Master Chief Scottie L. Cox

Command Master Chief, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FIVE

Master Chief Cox checked into Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5 as the Command Master Chief in April 2015.

Master Chief Scottie L. Cox was raised in Salem, Ore. and enlisted in the Navy September 20, 1990 attending basic training in San Diego.

His previous assignments include NMCB 1; Naval Air Station (NAS) Keflavik, Iceland Public Works Department; NAS Whidbey Island, Wash. Public Works Department; a previous tour with NMCB 5, 31st Seabee Readiness Group, Port Hueneme, Calif.; NMCB 3; Naval Construction Training Center, Port Hueneme, Calif.; Civil Engineer Corps Officer School (CECOS), Port Hueneme, Calif.; 1st Naval Construction Division, Virginia Beach, Va.; and Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Virginia Beach, Va. as the operations chief.

His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards) and various campaign, unit and service awards.
