Naval Mobile Construction Battalion THREE
NMCB-3 Unit 25269
FPO AP  96601-4921

Naval Construction Battalion Center - Port Hueneme

 Mission

Our command philosophy contains the three fundamentals of all successful military organizations. They are just 11 words... so make them the foundation of every consideration, decision, and action:

Take care of subordinates
Be a team player
Execute commander's intent

Beyond the philosophy itself, there are three elements which will ensure each and every member of NMCB THREE does their part to sustain our "Better than the Best" legacy:

Candor

Everyone in NMCB THREE should provide needed information and feedback while recognizing the roles of those in the chain-of-command. Never fail to speak up at an appropriate time and with respect, even if it's to give an unflattering or unpopular perspective. There are no such things as stupid questions or undesired viewpoints.

Accountability
When things go wrong (and they will go wrong) we must maintain accountability. The point isn't to assign blame but rather to acknowledge where we could or should have avoided the outcome. Accountability at all levels will be clear from the beginning of each evolution and we will learn something from every failure and success. Consequences, where appropriate, will be consistent, fair, and timely.

Camaraderie
While we work hard and play hard we strengthen the bonds of our team. Caring about each other, both professionally and personally, is the cornerstone of a cohesive unit. Look after your NMCB THREE shipmates and remember the Seabee family is worldwide and extends beyond the bounds of our command. Make lifelong friends in the process of having fun and take pride in all of our accomplishments.

More than 80 percent of what we do is a today thing. Focus accordingly!

What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
