CDR Jennifer L. Donahue assumed the duties of Commanding Officer for U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion TWO FIVE on 05NOV11. She was commissioned Ensign in the Civil Engineer Corps in 1996 through Officer Candidates School in Pensacola, FL. She began her military service as the Assistant Civil Engineer for Public Works Center, Guam. In 1998, she was transferred to U.S. Naval Construction Battalion FIVE where she served as the Administration Officer, Intel Officer, Detachment OIC, and Training Officer. Following this assignment CDR Donahue resigned her active duty commission and joined U.S. Naval Construction Battalion SEVENTEEN. During this assignment, she served as the Training Officer, Charlie Company Commander, and Air Detachment OIC. In 2003, she was assigned to FIRST Naval Construction Division, Little Creek, VA, where she first served as the Mobilization Officer (N97A), and Assistant Future Ops/Plans Officer (N35A1). In 2005, CDR Donahue rejoined U.S. Naval Construction Battalion SEVENTEEN as the Operations Officer and served with them through September of 2008. This includes a seven-month tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom '08. Following demobilization, she was assigned as the Liaison Officer to Korea and the Plans Officer (N5) for Command Naval Engineering Forces Korea (CNEFK). Following the short tour at CNEFK, she once again joined U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion SEVENTEEN as the Executive Officer and served with them from 2009 through 2011.
She is qualified as a Seabee Combat Warfare Officer and Fleet Marine Force Officer. Her personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, four Navy Commendation Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals, and various unit and service awards.
CDR Donahue's professional education includes a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in Ocean Engineering and a Masters of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkley. She is currently a Senior Engineer for Geosyntec Consultants. She is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of California and Colorado. In addition, she is a member of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute, Society of American Military Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.
