The SEVENTH Naval Construction Regiment (7NCR) was commissioned in 1969. Over the last 55 years it has exercised command of the Naval Mobile Construction Battalions in the Northeast section of the country, first headquartered at Construction Battalion Center, Davisville (the original home of the SEABEES) and later Naval Station, Newport , Rhode Island.
Since Sept 11, 2001 the men and women of 7NCR staff and it's subordinate Battalions have been mobilized to active duty on an almost constant basis. Members of NMCB1 and NMCB133 Augment units deployed with their gaining commands to Afghanistan immediately after the terrorist strike. Each Battalion in the 7NCR has deployed as a unit or or detachment multiple times in support of the Global War on Terror to Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Spain, and the Caribbean. The SEVENTH Naval Construction Regimental Staff itself has been mobilized twice for service with the United Stated Marine Corps in Iraq.
Heir to a long tradition of citizen soldiers from the Northeast, the Seabees of 7NCR proudly continue.
