DESCRIPTION

The Course is designed to provide students with a functional understanding of Maritime Ballistic Missile Defense (MBMD) and associated Joint Elements operations and system components from a senior staff tactical watch (STAO) perspective. The three day course consists of classroom training and a table top exercise. The course is modularized and designed to support Flag and Senior Strike Group Staff for a half day session on day one covering BMD System Overview and Threat Brief. The remaining modules are designed for staff Action Officers (AO’s) encompassing more detailed lessons on Maritime BMD Sensors, ISR, Weapons Systems, Command and Control (C2), Communications Support (C4I), Training Requirements, Planning Systems, Planning Process, BMD Commander Duties, and Table Top Exercise.

TGT AUDIENCE

Numbered fleet staffs, carrier/expeditionary strike group staffs, PHIBRON/DESRON staffs and surface combatants (CG/DDG).
