Welcome to the Board of Inspection and Survey. I am the President of the Board, Rear Admiral Robert O. Wray, Jr. INSURV was established by Congress 130 years ago to thoroughly inspect our Navy ships and to report on their readiness. It's probably the toughest and most thorough external review that any naval ship will ever receive. This external review however, is an open-book test. While preparing for an inspection, you will have thorough access to the details regarding the inspection events, the systems and gear that will be inspected, and what will be expected of your ship during this event.
This website is designed to provide you with all the information you will need to ensure that your ship is absolutely ready for your scheduled inspection.
To begin preparations for your upcoming inspection, visit our "Getting Inspected" link located in the left navigation.
Please take a look inside our website, and drill down deeply. Access the Notes from the President link located on the "Getting Inspected" page for my Top Twenty Tips to excel during your inspection. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact our office. Finally, if there's ways we can make this site more useful to you, please let us know by using our feedback form. Thank you for your service, and we'll see you around the waterfront. |
