PURPOSE
EWTGLANT has designed and developed curriculum to train and educate Navy and Marine Corps personnel in the planning and Execution of Amphibious Operations at the Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) and Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) Levels. The course addresses at training GAP for Navy and Marine Corps personnel in the Amphibious Education Continuum noted in lessons learned from numerous Bold Alligator after action reports. IAC is targeted toward Officers (03-05 WO/CWO) and Senior enlisted (E7-E9) assigned to MEB/ESG Staff Billets and other billets involving planning for or employment of medium to large scale amphibious forces.
SCOPE
The course covers the following tasks: Plan a MEB/ESG level amphibious operation; plan to use maritime forces in a CWC environment; plan command and control of am-phibious forces; develop a MEB embark load plan; plan ship-to-shore movement; plan advanced force operations; plan tactical fires with maneuver; plan logistics/sustainment of the landing force; and plan for transition of the MEB C2 from afloat to ashore.
PREREQUISITES
Graduate of Expeditionary Warfare Staff Planning Course or other planning course equivalent.
