PURPOSE
To provide a ship's Naval Surface Fire Support Team with training in proper execution of Naval Surface Fire Support (NSFS) to conduct safe and effective firing. This includes procedures outlined in FXP-5, NWP 3-09.11M, ATP-4(series), COMNAVSURFORINST 3502.1 (series). Modifications made by Fleet Commanders are incorporated into the course.
SCOPE
Course provides classroom/lab instruction in the operational procedures used in NSFS. The course emphasizes development of team proficiency through detailed instruction and closely supervised simulated NSFS missions. This course is taught aboard ship by Mobile Training Teams (MTT's) utilizing the 20E19 Embedded Training Device to evaluate the fall of shot.
