ESG Workshop

PURPOSE
The ARG/MEU Staff Planning Course is collective training that teaches the Amphibious Planning Process (APP) and Rapid Response Planning Process (R2P2) to Amphibious Squadrons (PHIBRON), Marine Expeditionary Units(MEU), Naval Subordinate Elements, Major Subordinate Elements, and ship staffs. As per COMUSFLTFORCOM/COMPACFLTINST 1500.49A and MCO 3502.3B this course is the first integrated training event in a Fleet Readiness Training Program/Pre-Deployment Training Program (FRTP/PTP) for deploying ARG/MEU teams.
SCOPE
Upon completion students will be able to conduct crisis response planning in a time-constrained environment. Staffs will utilize this training during subsequent training evolutions during the FRTP/PTP and operational deployments. Major topics include information management, SOP development, fundamentals of the R2P2, Integrated Planning, and each step of the planning process.
PREREQUISITES
All participants must possess a valid SECRET security clearance and must be a citizen of the United States, Australia, Canada, Great Britain, or New Zealand. Staffs must be proficient in the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP) as outlined in MCWP 5-1. Staffs must be familiar with Amphibious Operations planning, and expeditionary support to other operations/crisis response and limited contingency operations planning as outlined in joint and service publications. In addition, staffs must be proficient in Microsoft SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Word; Command and Control PC (C2PC); and Collaboration at Sea (CAS). Staffs should be familiar with ARG/MEU Structure, capabilities and limitations, as well as the MEU mission sets outlined in MCO 3120.9C.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
SECRET clearance is mandatory

Security clearance verification can be forwarded to the EWTGLANT Security Manager via FAX using command letterhead or OPNAV Form 5521/27 at DSN: 253-7252 or COMM: 757-462-7252, or via message addressed to EWTGLANT VIRGINIA BEACH VA/NOOX/.

Security clearance verification must contain the following information: full name; rank, grade, or rate; date and place of birth; social security number; citizenship of proposed student; name and address of the activity to be visited; date and duration of the proposed visit; security clearance of proposed visitor, investigation type, date of investigation; and phone number and verifying signature of the Security Manager (if Faxed).
