Commanding Officer

Captain Tony Miller is a native of Ellisville, Miss. He was commissioned in 1990 after graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in oceanography.  After completing Surface Warfare Officer’s School in Newport, R.I., he reported as Damage Control Assistant aboard USS La Moure County (LST-1194). During this tour, he qualified as a Surface Warfare Officer, deployed to the Mediterranean Sea, and later served as First and Second Division Officer.

Executive Officer 

A native of Connecticut, Commander Turek received his commission through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at Maine Maritime Academy in 1996. Originally a surface warfare officer, Commander Turek served in USS Hue City (CG 66) as the Antisubmarine Warfare Officer from 1997-1999 where he earned his surface warfare qualification.
