CAPT Gallaudet is a native of Los Angeles, Calif., and graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1989, receiving a bachelor’s degree in oceanography. He received a master’s degree in oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 1991. (click on photo for full bio)

Commander Franklin enlisted in the Navy in 1981, serving as Plane Captain with Attack Squadron 195 in Lemoore, Calif., until 1985, completing one Western Pacific deployment aboard USS Ranger (CV-61).

Scientific Director
Dr. Kenneth Johnston is a native of New York City. He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1964 from Manhattan College and a Ph.D. in Astronomy from Georgetown University in 1969.
