Mrs. Lezlie Gingerich
Dear NIOD Groton Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Lezlie Gingerich, and I was recently appointed as the ombudsman for NIOD Groton. Over the past 11 years, I have had the privilege of experiencing life as a Navy wife both in the Reserves and Active Duty. During those 11 years, I have navigated five relocations and four deployments all while raising four busy boys! Although Navy life has many unique challenges, I have learned to appreciate and adapt to the changing lifestyle.
As the command appointed ombudsman, my job is to serve as a voice between our command leadership and families. Please consider me as your first point of contact for all family members connected to our command; this includes spouses, parents, and extended family members. Besides serving as the command voice, I am here to assist you by providing information and referrals both within the Navy and the local community.
My main goal as ombudsman is to assist NIOD Groton Families in successfully navigating the Navy lifestyle. Any questions, comments, complaints, concerns, etc. will all be handled in the strictest confidence and in a professional manner. If I may be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.
