Getting to Whidbey Island
1. EAST of WI: From Interstate 5 - Take Exit 230 (Anacortes/ Burlington). Turn left onto Highway 20 and proceed until you see highway sign to Oak Harbor (fourth stop light) and turn left. Head up the hill, cross the bridge and stay on Highway 20. Proceed to the light on Ault Field Road. Turn right, and when you reach the second stop light, take right on Langley Blvd to the Langley Gate.
2. WEST of WI: From Port Townsend (Keystone Ferry) - From ferry, turn left on Engle Road. Stay left on Engle Road (about 4 miles) until you come to Highway 20 in Coupeville. Take a left at the light and continue north to Oak Harbor. At first stop light before highway goes into town, turn left onto Swantown Road. About one block after another set of lights, turn right onto Heller Road, and continue until it turns to right onto Clover Valley Road. Turn left at the first stop light to the Langley Gate.
3. SOUTH of WI: From Clinton (Mukilteo Ferry) - From ferry, follow Highway 525 north, which turns into Highway 20, for about 43 miles before arriving to Oak Harbor. At first stop light before highway goes into town, turn left onto Swantown Road. About one block after another set of lights, turn right onto Heller Road, and continue until it turns to right onto Clover Valley Road. Turn left at the first stop light to the Langley Gate.
If you need to arrange access to the base, you may be directed to the Pass and Decal office once you reach the gate.
Turn left onto W Midway Street. Turn Right onto Princeton Street. Turn Left onto W Intruder Street. NIOC WI will be located in the building 2700 at the end of the street.
**Please Note that due to the unique geography of the Puget Sound region, the Washington highway system can be indirect and include ferry crossings. Point to point distances on the map can be misleading and actual travel times and routes may be significantly longer.
If you are arriving by air to SeaTac International Airport transportation is available and you can get information about prices and schedules by stopping in at the USO office. Signs directing you to the USO office can be found on your way to the baggage claim area.
