Command Master Chief

Master Chief Morris was raised in Fulshear, Texas and attended Lamar CISD High School. After enlisting in the United States Navy on December 15, 1992 he attended basic recruit training in San Diego, California. Following recruit training; he attended Apprenticeship Training and Fleet Training in San Diego, California.

His first duty station was aboard USS Belleau Wood (LHA-3) in Sasebo, Japan where he advanced to the rank of Petty Officer Third Class as an Operation Specialist. In June 1995, he transferred to USS Mobile Bay (CG-53) in Yokosuka, Japan attending Anti Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) "C" school in route graduating top of his class. In February 1999, he reported to USS Cushing (DD-985) also in Yokosuka, Japan where he served as an ASTAC and Leading Petty Officer. In September 2002, he transferred to Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii serving as the Fleet Command Center division officer and was also selected for Chief Petty Officer. In August 2005, he transferred to USS Harpers Ferry (LSD-49) in Sasebo, Japan where he served as a Departmental Leading Chief Petty Officer and the Senior Enlisted Combat Systems. In 2008 he was selected for the Command Senior Chief Program and for commissioning as a Limited Duty Operations Officer. Turning down his commission, he transferred to USS Guardian (MCM-5) in Sasebo, Japan where he served as Command Senior Chief and was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer. In October 2010, he transferred to Mine Countermeasures Squadron Seven also in Sasebo, Japan where he served as the Squadron Command Master Chief for the Forward Deployed MCM Fleet. He reported to Navy Information Operations Command, Misawa, Japan in April 2011.

Master Chief Morris is entitled to wear the Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare Specialist (EIDWS) and the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) insignia. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards) and various campaign, service awards.
