What is an Ombudsman?

Hi, my name is Linda and I am the Ombudsman for NCTS San Diego. 

I am a volunteer family advocate for the Command.  I work directly alongside the Command TRIAD, sharing Command news as well as resources to the families. Basically, my main purpose is to ensure that the families have all the resources that they need to make your lives a little easier and make transition a little smoother!  I have completed a course of training that enables me to have lots of resources that can help you with your day to day needs like child care or even a PCS move to name a couple!           

As the Command Ombudsman you should know that I am not a first responder. In case of an immediate Emergency please call 911. Then you can call me later!  If I receive a phone call from anyone of my families, everything you tell me will be completely confidential! Unless it is something I am mandated to report to the Command.

Here is a list of what we call 

Reportables 

These are what we MUST report to our chain of Command: 

  • All suspected Child abuse claims
  • Any Suspected Suicide Risks
  • Any suspected Homicide Risks
  • Any Criminal Activity
  • Any severe financial problems 

If you need to give me a call, call me between 9:00AM-8:00PM.  Should you need to call me in case of an emergency, call me anytime! I really am here for you and care to help you in any way I can!
