Commander Fuselier was born and raised in Sulphur, LA and joined the Navy in 1986. Upon graduation from RTC in Orlando and Fire Control Technician “A” school he transferred to the USS MISSOURI (BB 63) in Long Beach, CA. In 1989, upon completion of AN/SPS-48E 3D RADAR course in Mare Island, CA, he transferred to the USS HALSEY (CG 23) in San Diego, CA. In 1992, he transferred to Combat Systems Technical Schools Command, Mare Island where he performed as a Lead Instructor for the AN/SPS-48E RADAR Maintenance Technician course, Total Quality Leadership Command Coordinator/Instructor and Command Legal Officer. While there he earned his Master Training Specialist designation and was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in 1994.
In 1996, Commander Fuselier was commissioned under the LDO program and reported aboard USS DWIGHT D EISENHOWER (CVN 69) in Newport News, VA, as the RADAR Division Officer. While there he earned his Surface Warfare Officer qualification and was selected Junior Officer Ship Handler of the Year. In 1999 he transferred to Allied Command Atlantic Communications Logistics Depot in Yorktown Weapons Station, VA, as the EMO. In 2001, he reported to the THEODORE ROOSEVELT Battle Group/Carrier Group Eight in the North Arabian Sea during a combat deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, as the Flag Combat Systems Officer. He qualified as Staff Tactical Watch Officer standing watch in TFCC. While there he had oversight of the planning, funding and installation of all C5ISR upgrades for GEORGE WASHINGTON Carrier Strike Group Ship’s during the inter-deployment readiness cycle. In 2004, Commander Fuselier transferred to Integrated Underwater Operational Support Center (IOSC) at Little Creek, VA and assumed duties as Officer-In-Charge. He then transferred to the USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) in Bremerton, WA as the Combat Systems Maintenance Officer (CSMO). Upon completion of an around the world cruise he pulled the ship into dry dock for a Refuel Complex Overhaul (RCOH). He then pre-commissioned the USS GEORGE H W BUSH (CVN 77) as the CSO. During this time, he completed the IP Advanced Qualification and Acquisition Professional Level 1 certification.
In 2009, CDR Fuselier redesignated as an Information Professional (IP). He was hand selected to be the CNAL/CNAP CSO responsible for C5ISR on all CVN’s. In 2010, he transferred to Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) as the Deputy N6 ACOS. He completed his O5 milestone tour and earned the Information Dominance Warfare Officer designation.
CDR Fuselier’s education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology and a Master of Management degree.
His personal decorations include the Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (7), Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, as well as several campaign and service awards.
He is married to the former Patricia Slawson of Virginia Beach, VA. They have three children, Lauren, Chelsea and Garrett.
