CAPT Reece Morgan
NCTS Naples Commanding Officer
CAPT Morgan graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1989. He served as a Surface Warfare Officer aboard USS DEYO (DD-989) in Charleston, SC and USS ARKANSAS (CGN-41) in Alameda, CA, and Bremerton, WA. In 1995 he became a Fleet Support Officer and in 2002 CAPT Morgan was designated a Navy Information Professional. He completed afloat tours as Knowledge Manager for THIRD Fleet aboard USS CORONADO (AGF-11) and as Assistant Chief of Staff for C4I in Commander, Task Force 70, forward deployed in Japan aboard USS KITTY HAWK (CV-63) and USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN-73). His deployments include the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans, the Persian Gulf, and the Mediterranean, Baltic, and Caribbean Seas.
Ashore, CAPT Morgan has served as Information Technology Plans Officer for the Naval Postgraduate School, Executive Officer of Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Jacksonville, Operations Officer for Navy Network and Space Operations Command, CIO and Deputy Commander of the Joint Warfare Analysis Center, and Officer in Charge of the US Joint Forces Command Forward Support Element – Iraq. He most recently served in multiple positions in the Office of the Secretary of Defense staff as the Principal Director for the Deputy CIO for Cybersecurity, Director of the Defense-Wide Information Assurance Program, and Director of the Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Program. He holds a Master’s Degree in Information Technology Management from the Naval Postgraduate School and is also designated as a Navy Space Professional.
He became the 24th Commanding Officer of U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Naples, Italy on 29 August 2013.
