CWO2 Behr graduated from O. Perry Walker High School in 1996. He completed his Associate's Degree in Information Systems from Grantham University in January 2011 and is currently working on his Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Information Technology from University of Management and Technology. He hails from New Orleans, Louisiana.
In January 1996, CWO2 Behr joined the Navy under the Delayed Entry Program and reported to Recruit Basic Training in July 1996. He subsequently attended the Radioman (RM) "A" school in October 1996 at Naval Training Center Great Lakes, Illinois.
He reported to USS SCOUT (MCM 8) for his first command in January 1996, where he completed 2 Mediterranean Cruises in 1997 and 1999.
His follow-on enlisted tours include USS DEXTROUS (MCM 13), NAVCOMTELSTA BAHRAIN, OPNAV TCC Washington DC, and Multi National Corps-Iraq.
He was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in 2005 while serving as the Operational Notes (OPNOTES) Writer for the CNO, VCNO, and numerous other Flag Officers throughout the Washington, DC area. He then served as Leading Chief Petty Officer onboard USS JOHN S MCCAIN (DDG 56) and at SPAWAR System Center Western Pacific as the Systems Analyst Section Leading Chief Petty Officer.
He was selected for Senior Chief and Chief Warrant Officer while serving as the ADP Operations Chief onboard USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73).
CWO2 Behr's Awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two), Navy and Marine Achievement Medal (five), and various campaign medals and unit awards.
