CWO3 Garcia P. Gaither

    Chief Warrant Officer Gaither enlisted in the Navy Delayed Entry Program Advanced Electronics Field at the age of 17. After graduating from Fairfield Central High School in 1993, he attended recruit training at RTC Great Lakes, IL. Upon graduation from RTC, he entered his training through JOBS STRAND VI at SSC Millington, TN, BE&E at SSC Orlando, FL and ET “A” at SSC Great Lakes, IL. At the completion of ET “A” school, he was assigned orders to NCTS Roosevelt Roads in Puerto Rico as a Calibration

CWO3 Gaither transferred from this tour of duty as a Second Class Petty Officer with follow-on orders to USS MCINERNEY (FFG 8). During this assignment, he was Work Center Supervisor and primary GCCS-M technician

In 2002, he reported to FCTCLANT Dam Neck, VA as a GCCS-M instructor and maintenance technician, where he obtained Master Training Specialist. After this successful tour, CWO3 Gaither transferred to USS HUE CITY (CG 66) as the Communications and Electronics Division Leading Petty Officer. In 2007, he was selected to Chief Petty Officer and served as Aegis Systems and Communications Divisions Leading Chief Petty Officer.

He reported to NCTS Bahrain in March 2009 as Plans and Projects Department LCPO. He received his appointment as Chief Warrant Officer 2 in September 2010, in the Information Systems Technician designator. His present assignment is Officer in Charge, Naval Computer and Telecommunication Station Far East Detachment Misawa Japan (NCTS FE DET Misawa).

            CWO3 Gaither’s personal awards include a Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards). He is authorized to wear the Information Dominance Warfare Officer and Enlisted Surface Warfare insignias.

ITC Deanna L. Peabody

 

              Chief Peabody is a native of Tacoma, Washington.  She graduated from Henry Foss High School in 1992 and Washington State University in 1996 with a Bachelors Degree in Merchandising.  Chief Peabody enlisted in the Navy on January 6, 1998.  After completing recruit training and RM “A” school in Great Lakes IL., she reported to NCTS Guam where she worked as a NAVCOMPARS Supervisor from September 1998 – September 2000.  While stationed at NCTS Guam, Chief Peabody advanced to Petty Officer Third Class.

              In September of 2000, Chief Peabody reported to COMPSRON THREE on board the MV Jack Lummus, a Military Pre-positioning Ship, forward deployed to Guam.  While on board she advanced to Second Class Petty Officer and completed her Enlisted Surface Warfare Qualification.

              In October of 2001 Chief Peabody transferred to NCTSCU DET FAIRFIELD, a TACOMMO Communication Detachment located at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California.  While stationed at NCTSCU she worked as a Communication Watch Officer, Administrative Officer, Command CFL and Alternate EKMS Custodian; she also advanced to First Class Petty Officer.

              Following the birth of her son in December 2004, Chief Peabody reported to the USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19) in Yokosuka, Japan in June 2005.  While on board she served as a Communication Watch Officer, Technical Control Leading Petty Officer, Alternate EKMS Custodian, Departmental Career Counselor and Combat Systems Training Team Member.

              Chief Peabody next served as an Executive Support Supervisor for the Secretary of Defense from June 2008 to August 2011, where she provided direct communication support for the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Defense.  Shortly after reporting to SECDEF Communications she advanced to Chief Petty Officer.
