LT Matthew Hottle
LT Hottle was raised in Enumclaw, Washington and graduated from the University of Washington in 2007, with a degree in mathematics education. He applied to Officer Candidate School in 2008 while serving as a statistician for Navy Recruiting District Seattle. He was commissioned in January of 2009 as a Surface Warfare Officer with an Information Professional option.
LT Hottle was first assigned to USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62) as the Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer, during which he participated in multiple multi-national exercises and Operation Tomodachi. While assigned to FITZGERALD, he earned his Surface Warfare pin.
For his next duty station he was assigned to USS GRAVELY (DDG 107) as the Fire Control Officer, out of Norfolk, Virginia. As part of GRAVELY’s second crew, he managed pre-deployment work-ups and participated in her maiden deployment to the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.
In September of 2013, he reported for duty to NCTS FE DET Diego Garcia as Assistant Officer-in-Charge, having executed his Information Professional option.
LT Hottle’s personal awards include a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
