CDR Hezekiah Natta enlisted in the Navy in August 1986
CDR Natta’s operational tours were on the submarines; USS George Bancroft (SSBN 643) where he qualified in submarines, USS Greenling (SSN 614), and USS Parche (SSN 683) where he took part in three Ocean Engineering evolutions and was selected to Chief Petty Officer. He was commissioned to Ensign via the Limited Duty Officer program in 1998, and continued his sea tours on USS Austin (LPD 4) where he served as the Electronics Materials Officer in charge of all communications and radar equipment repair, USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51), and USS George Washington (CVN 73) as the Combat System Information Systems Officer where he implemented Information Systems Management best business practices and procedures.
Shore tours were as the Department Head of Electronics Technicians training school house in Norfolk, VA where he spearheaded the Navy’s revolution in training, streamlining and implementing robust course designs. He also served as the N6 at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic. In 2010, he deployed to Iraq as the International Zone Communications Support Officer in Charge, responsible for the installation, integration and coordination of communications systems within the International Zone area of operations. Additionally, he was the Program Manager for the Cyber Security Inspection and Certification Program Assist and Training Visit at Navy Cyber Forces. |

CDR Natta earned a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Norfolk State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He also holds a Bachelors Degree in General Studies from Excelsior College a Masters Degree in Information Systems Management from Troy University and an Executive Masters in Business Administration from Naval Post Graduate School.
CDR Natta is the recipient of various personal, and campaign awards including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (6), and Navy Achievement Medal (5). In 2010 he was awarded the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Leadership Award in a Joint Operational Combat Zone. | |
