CIVILIAN CLOTHING

The following civilian attire guidelines are established:

Civilian clothing is authorized when on leave or liberty in the Hawaii area.  When wearing civilian attire, Navy personnel shall ensure their dress and personal appearance are appropriate for the occasion and not detrimental to the image of the U.S. Navy and its military members.  Except in emergencies, civilian clothing is not authorized while conducting business during normal working hours at Naval Regional Medical Clinic, Naval Regional Dental Center, Personnel Support Detachment, or NCTAMS PAC.

PERSONAL SECURITY

USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM.  It is always important to use the buddy system while on AT. Travel in groups, especially if you are not familiar with the area.

The buddy system is a must if you go swimming or snorkeling at the local beaches. Although Hawaii beaches are among the most beautiful in the world, the surf can be very dangerous, especially along the North Shore. Listen to the surf report on the local radio/TV stations for up to date information. Again…use careful judgment.

NAVY EXCHANGE AND COMMISSARY

A valid ID card will allow you to exercise unlimited shopping privileges at the various military exchanges and commissaries in the area.
