Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic Hosts the First Hampton Roads Information Dominance Corps
On September 7th 2012, Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMS LANT) hosted the first Information Dominance Corps (IDC) Dining Out for Hampton Roads, VA. This custom of naval officers and their guests dining in mess together is not new or lately imported. This traditional wardroom event has been observed by military services in the United States and Europe for hundreds of years. It was an evening of good food, fellowship, and honoring individuals and organizations within the IDC Community.
The event was held at the Hilton in Virginia Beach. The primary elements consisted of a formal setting, the comradeship of the members of the mess, a fine dinner, traditional toasts, and speeches. Approximately 75 guests and members of the IDC were in attendance for what proved to be a memorable evening. CAPT Kotheimer, Commanding Officer of Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center, served as the guest of honor and CAPT Barrett, Commanding Officer of NCTAMS LANT, served as the presiding officer for the entertaining night of festivities and socializing. NCTAMS LANT plans to continue hosting the IDC Dining Out as an annual event for all IDC officers in the Hampton Roads area.
