The Dashboard was designed to help Human Resources and Line managers manage future employee and workforce initiatives including hiring, career management, and workforce-shaping. The information has been formatted for easier retrieval and analysis. Information can be obtained from pre-formatted reports or through ad hoc reports built by the user (cubes).

Preformatted reports addressing often requested data and conditions are available for Commands and their sub-entities as well as cross-command occupational communities. Special reports addressing Mission-Critical Occupations are also provided.

Cubes are specially prepared data structures that enable users to quickly retrieve information about subsets of the Department of the Navy, major commands, or communities. Separate cubes address on-board counts, and accessions and separations from departmental entities (e.g., commands, OCHR service centers, and Human Resources offices.)
