WELCOME BACK TO THE DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY’S CIVILIAN HUMAN RESOURCES WEBSITE.
NEXT MONTH, DON HR WILL LAUNCH ITS CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT SURVEY. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY HELPFUL TOOL THAT WE USE TO UNDERSTAND WHERE HUMAN RESOURCES IS SUCCEEDING AND WHERE WE CAN IMPROVE.
THE CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT SURVEY ALLOWS PARTICIPANTS TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK TO THE DEPARTMENT OF NAVY ON WHAT THEY DEEM TO BE THE MOST IMPORTANT AND PRESSING ISSUES. INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH THE SURVEY IS USED TO SHAPE AND REALIGN OUR FOCUS AS HR SERVICE PROVIDERS. FOR EXAMPLE, PREVIOUS SURVEYS COMMUNICATED TO US THAT OUR CUSTOMERS VIEWED IMPROVEMENT OF THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS AS A HIGH PRIORITY. KNOWING WHERE TO CONCENTRATE OUR EFFORTS, WE USED THIS DATA TO RE-FOCUS OUR STRATEGY AND RESOURCES. WE BELIEVE THIS PROCESS HAS YIELDED WORTHWHILE RESULTS, AND WE EXPERIENCED AN IMPROVEMENT IN SATISFACTION RATINGS.
OUR RESULTS HAVE BEEN STEADILY IMPROVING ACROSS THE BOARD, REFLECTING THE SURVEY’S ABILITY TO OPEN AND IMPROVE COMMUNICATION ON BOTH ENDS. AVERAGE OVERALL SATISFACTION HAS INCREASED BY 17 PERCENT OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS. THE QUESTIONS REMAIN CONSISTENT YEAR TO YEAR TO ALLOW US TO COMPARE AND TRACK SPECIFIC AREAS OF SERVICE, INCLUDING EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND BENEFITS, ASSISTANCE WITH POLICIES AND REGULATIONS, PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT, TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT, OCHR HEADQUARTERS SERVICES, PROCESSING PERSONNEL ACTIONS, COMPENSATION POLICY, AND HIRING PROCESSES.
