 VIDEO TRANSCRIPT (APRIL 2011)

THIS MONTH, THE DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY WILL TRANSITION TO THE USE OF USA STAFFING, AS PART OF OUR EFFORTS TO IMPLEMENT THE PRESIDENTIAL HIRING REFORM. USA STAFFING, DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY TO STREAMLINE AND UPDATE THE FEDERAL HIRING PROCESS, WILL REPLACE RESUMIX AND ALLOW HIRING MANAGERS TO RECRUIT TOP QUALITY EMPLOYEES AND BRING THEM ON BOARD FASTER.

INCREASED COLLABORATION BETWEEN HR PROFESSIONALS AND HIRING MANAGERS WILL MAKE FOR A MORE EFFICIENT AND INTELLIGENT PROCESS, ENSURING THE SELECTION OF THE BEST CANDIDATES TO COMPLEMENT AN ALREADY TALENTED CIVILIAN WORKFORCE. USA STAFFING ENABLES HIRING MANAGERS TO BETTER IDENTIFY CORE COMPETENCIES AND HELPS HUMAN RESOURCES PROFESSIONALS ASSESS CANDIDATES BASED ON THOSE COMPETENCIES. BY REFINING JOB DESCRIPTIONS, SHORTENING HIRING TIMELINES AND ENGAGING WITH APPLICANTS, THE PROCESS WILL BECOME MORE EFFECTIVE AND WILL ALLOW DON TO MATCH TOP TALENT WITH CRITICAL POSITIONS.

PRESIDENT OBAMA LAUNCHED THE CIVILIAN HIRING REFORM TO MAKE FEDERAL SERVICE A CAREER OF CHOICE AND TO BETTER PREPARE OUR NATION FOR THE CHALLENGES OF THE FUTURE. DON SEEKS TO LEAD THE WAY IN THIS PREPARATION, AND I AM EXCITED THAT WE ARE UNVEILING THIS NEW TOOL TO ACHIEVE THAT GOAL.

FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE DON’S IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGY IN SUPPORT OF HIRING REFORM, OR TO APPLY FOR A DEPARTMENT OF NAVY CIVILIAN JOB, PLEASE VISIT THE EMPLOYMENT SECTION OF OUR WEBSITE.
