  ITCM (SW/IDW) Germaine Jefferies

Destroyer Squadron Four Zero Communications Leading Petty Officer 

Master Chief Petty Officer Jefferies, originally from Gaffney, South Carolina, is a graduate of Thomas Edison State College.  In 1990 he enlisted in the United States Navy. 

Master Chief Jefferies received recruit and apprenticeship training at RTC Orlando FL.  His first assignment was aboard USS McInerney (FFG- 8), Mayport, Florida from November 1990 until Oct 1993.  He deployed in support of Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He transferred from USS McInerney in Dec 1993 to NCTS Iceland and served as Radio Technician and Communication Watch Officer.  Master Chief Jefferies transferred to NCTS LONDON/COMUSNAVEUR, London, UK in Jun 1995 and served as a Communications Watch Officer.  In 1998, Master Chief Jefferies transferred to USS Taylor (FFG 50), Mayport, Florida where he deployed to the Indian Ocean-Persian Gulf.  He served as the Communications Leading Petty Officer and Alt EKMS Custodian in which he made two deployments to the Middle East.  In 2000, he transferred to the US CENTRAL COMMAND (CENTCOM), Tampa , Florida where he was selected to Chief Petty Officer.  He served as the Leading Chief Petty Officer and deployed several times Middle East.  In 2003, Master Chief Jefferies transferred to USS Vicksburg (CG-69), Mayport, Florida where he was selected to Senior Chief. 

 He completed two deployments to the Indian Ocean-Persian Gulf  in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terrorism where he served as Communications Leading Chief Petty Officer.  He Transferred in Mar 2006 to COMUSNAVSO, Mayport, Florida where he served as Departmental Leading Petty Officer and later as the Senior Enlisted Leader.  He transferred in  2009 to ECRC SD/IRAQ for a  1year  IA tour.  In 2010 he transferred to NCTS Bahrain where he served as Departmental Leading Chief Petty Officer.  In 2012 he transferred to Destroyer Squadron Four Zero where he currently serves as Communications Leading Petty Officer. 

Master Chief Jefferies is designated as an Information Dominance Warfare  and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist.  He is a proud graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course and his awards include the Joint Service commendation Medal(2), Joint service Achievement Medal,  Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3), Navy Good Conduct Medal (6), and various unit and campaign awards.
