Spirit of Hope Award

 

The Spirit of Hope Award website has been revised to incorporate procedures for the submission of both the Department of Defense Spirit of Hope Award and the Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher Distinguished Civilian Humanitarian Award nominations.  
 
Information on how to submit a nominee, nomination requirements, award deadline, etc., for these two distinguish awards is announced via NAVADMIN.  NAVADMIN 272/16 announces the annual Spirit of Hope Award and Fisher Award nomination and selection process for CY 2016.
  
The Spirit of Hope Award is presented to individuals or organizations that embody the core values of Mr. Bob Hope, who gave generously to the military men and women for over five decades.   The Fisher Award recognize private sector individuals or organizations that demonstrate exceptional patriotism and humanitarian service for members of the U. S. Armed Forces or their families as inspired by Zachary and Elizabeth Fishers, founders of the Fisher Houses (One of their many contributions to assist military members and veterans). 
The criteria for the Spirit of Hope Award are detailed in the DODINST 1005.14, and is available via the Department of Defense Issuance website at: http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/100514p.pdf.  
The criteria for the Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher Distinguished Civilian Humanitarian Award are detailed in the SECNAVINST 5061.16, and is available via the Department of the Navy Issuance website at:  http://doni.daps.dla.mil/Directives/05000%20General%20Management%20Security%20and%20Safety%20Services/05-00%20General%20Admin%20and%20Management%20Support/5061.16.pdf.  
Submission of nomination packages for both the Spirit of Hope and Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher Distinguished Civilian Humanitarian Award will be completed using the nomination template found accessing the following link: nomination template.
