Know the Facts

  • Use and/or possession of any synthetic drug is illegal for all service members and is punishable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
  • Synthetic drugs are known to cause elevated blood pressure, tremors, seizures, vomiting, abdominal pain and more.
  • The chemical blends are continuously manipulated and the strength of the synthetic chemical used is unknown; therefore, there is no way to know what you are ingesting or what the long-term health risks are if used. 
  • Synthetic drugs can negatively impact your paycheck, rank, Naval career, and your health. The choice is yours.

NADAP launched two new informational videos regarding the career risks of the synthetic drugs known as "bath salts" or “Spice”. The new videos focus on the career consequences of using bath salts and other synthetic drugs as part of a continual effort to educates Sailors of the risks and dangers of synthetic drugs to both their health and their Naval career.
