Impaired driving crashes are one hundred percent preventable. Maintaining a level of self-control and staying
responsible while drinking alcohol is within everyone's ability, whether at a party, at the bar, or anywhere else. If you decide to drink, designate a driver that will forgo drinking ANY alcohol that night. A designated driver ensures that you all get home safely.

You can Give the Gift of a Designated Driver (DD) in three easy steps:

  1. Commit to lead by example by drinking responsibly and never drinking and driving.
  2. Choose at least one night from November 19, 2017 through December 31, 2017 to serve as a DD.
  3. Print one of our Give the Gift of a DD gift cards below for your shipmates, friends and/or family members to redeem for a safe ride home.

DO treat your designated driver to dinner or non-alcoholic drinks as a token of appreciation.
DO take turns being a designated driver by setting up a schedule or rotation among your shipmates.

DON'T consume any alcohol if you are a designated driver.
DON'T make the same person be the designated driver every time.
DON'T assign a designated driver once the night has begun by selecting the 'least drunk of the bunch.'
