Letters to the Board (LTB)
The Customer Service Center receives and processes LTBs year-round. Please ensure you are apprised of the most recent information regarding selection boards including mailing address, convening schedule, etc. You may visit Selection Boards for the latest available information. To verify receipt of your LTB, click on the button below and log-in to our knowledge base.

You may submit encrypted LTBs to firstname.lastname@example.org. If sending your LTB from a non-NMCI network please visit https://dod411.gds.disa.mil to download the required mailbox certificate. Enter "email@example.com" in the e-mail address field, click “Search” and follow the resulting instructions/screens. Please ensure you refer to the applicable directive (instruction, NAVADMIN, etc.) for LTB submission guidelines.
Note: The Customer Service Center is required to process all letters to the board including any received duplicates. We cannot delete or disregard any duplicates.
Potential civilian employers may verify the service dates of separated or separating Sailors via requests faxed to (901) 874-2044. The Navy World Wide Locator helps locate individuals who are currently serving as well as those who are separated or retired. Servicemembers' addresses are protected under the provisions of the Privacy Act and cannot be released. However, we are able to forward mail on your behalf. If you would like us to forward correspondence to a servicemember you may mail it to the address below. Servicemembers may decide whether or not to respond to forwarded correspondence.

There is no fee if you are a family member or are on official government business. There is no fee for requesting 8 searches or less. For 9 searches or more, the fee for researching is $3.50 per address. Submit fee(s) via check or money order to "Treasurer of the United States." Fees are retained in cases resulting in an unsuccessful search. Submit the following information along with the appropriate fee(s) to the above address.

Servicemember's Civil Relief Act (SCRA)
SCRA is a program that provides certain protections from civil actions against servicemembers who are called to active duty. It restricts or limits actions against these personnel in the areas of financial management, such as rental agreements, security deposits, evictions, installment contracts, credit card interest rates, mortgages, civil judicial proceedings, income tax payments, and more.
Users may submit a Single Record Request to obtain a report certifying Title 10 active duty status for provisions under SCRA. This report is also called a Certificate. No account is required to use the Single Record Request. Users may also request Multiple Record Requests of multiple individuals (or multiple dates for a single individual) to determine Title 10 active duty status for provisions under SCRA. An account is required to use the Multiple Record Request. Users will be able to:
