Selection Board Packages

Are you submitting a selection board package?  If so REGULAR MAIL is the preferred method to ensure resolution quality of the documents being submitted.  Please refer to the NAVADMIN that is associated with your board for the correct mailing address and deadlines for submission.

If deployed or stationed OCONUS, you may also e-mail selection board packages to CSCSELBOARD@navy.mil.

The CSCSELBOARD@NAVY.MIL mailbox account is capable of receiving ENCRYPTED correspondence IAW DoD policy. If you are sending your board package from a non NMCI network (BUMED.mil, USMC.mil, etc), please visit https://dod411.gds.disa.mil to download the required mailbox Certificate.

To download the “Cert”-

Please note, you MUST be using MS Outlook with a CAC reader , including “ActivClient” software and have Internet Explorer or Netscape 7

Go to https://dod411.gds.disa.mil

Type CSCSELBOARD@NAVY.MIL in the “E-Mail address field, then click “Search”.

Click the “CSC” link under “Last Name”. Click on the link “Download Certificate(s) as vCard
Click “Software Certificate for CSCSELBOARD@NAVY.MIL”. Click the “Open” button for the File Download popup. The Certificate will then open. Click “Save and Close”. The Certificate is then saved to the profile and can be used to send your encrypted e-mail.

If you have already sent your package “Unencrypted”, there is NO NEED to resubmit.

For efficient processing and internal tracking purposes, we ask that you place "Board Package: Board No. XXXX" (XXXX represents the actual board number) in the subject line of you e-mail.

During the periods of high volume please allow 5 business days from the date you submit for processing until you are able to get a "received" status.

Our selection board e-mail folder is set up to send an automatic reply to each e-mail stating your correspondence has been received, but unfortunately some e-mail systems identify the auto-replies as SPAM and prevent them from reaching the member.

Please do not send multiple electronic copies of the same package as this causes greater processing times.

Department of the Navy's Chief Information Officer (DON CIO) message 081745Z NOV 12 provides updated guidance regarding the use of fax machines to transmit Personally Identifiable Information (PII). The policy message can be found "HERE".

To check the status of a selection board package, click Selection Board Status.
