The Individual Development Plan is used to design developmental activities to address specific employee needs. Individual Development Planning is each member's personal responsibility. Supervisors are encouraged to assist in employee development by determining how best to address any gap between current employee knowledge and that which is expected.
Informal Developmental Activities include On–the-job training, technology based training, employee self development activities, coaching, mentoring, career development counseling, rotational assignments, shadowing, cross training and developmental activities at retreats and conferences.
Formal Developmental Activities include formal classroom training and employee detailing.
