Force Master Chief Williams, a native of Marion, Kentucky, enlisted in the United States Navy in February 1989. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Florida, he reported to Naval Technical Training Center in Pensacola, Florida, where he completed apprenticeship training.
Upon graduation, he reported to Navy Security Group Activity Misawa, Japan as a Cryptologic Technician Collection operator. His fleet assignments include Navy Security Group Activity Rota, Spain; USS Saratoga (CV-60); USS Kidd (DDG-993); USS Josephus Daniels (CG-27); USS Thorn (DD-988); USS Radford (DD-968); USS Essex (LHD-2); USS Bulkeley (DDG-84); USS Oak Hill (LSD-51); Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tennessee; Navy Information Operations Command, Yokosuka, Japan; and Naval Support Activity Mid-South.
Master Chief Williams assumed the Force Master Chief role at Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee on December 15, 2015.
While on active duty, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Management and Administration from Excelsior University. Additionally, Master Chief Williams is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 155, the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course in Newport, Rhode Island, and Leadership Millington.
He is dual warfare qualified earning both the Enlisted Surface and Aviation Warfare Specialist designations. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
