Force Master Chief
Master Chief Moore enlisted in the U. S. Navy in April 1981 and completed Basic Training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois followed by Operations Specialist class A school. His first assignment after training was USS LOCKWOOD (FF 1064) home ported in Yokosuka, Japan.
Master Chief Moore reported onboard USS WADSWORTH (FFG 9) where he served as Combat Information Center Watch Officer and Air Intercept Controller and was selected as the ship’s Sailor of the Year 1990.
His next assignment was instructor duty at Fleet Combat Training Center Atlantic where he taught FFG-7 Weapons Officer, Link 16, and NATO Sea Sparrow missile system courses of instruction. During this tour he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in September 1993.
He returned to sea duty January 1994 with Command and Control Warfare Group and was assigned to Commander Amphibious Squadron Two where he made two deployments aboard USS GUAM (LPH 9) as Command and Control Warfare Officer and Staff Tactical Watch Officer.
His next tour was aboard USS TORTUGA (LSD 46) as Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. He stood watch as CIC Watch Officer and qualified as Officer of the Deck Underway.
Master Chief Moore reported aboard USNS SATURN (TAFS 10) in October 1999 and served as Senior Enlisted Advisor and Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and made deployments to the Arabian Gulf. He transferred to the staff of Commander Amphibious Group Two in November 2001 and while there he was advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer, and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom embarked on USS KEARSARGE (LHD 3). While assigned to Commander Amphibious Group Two, Master Chief Moore was selected for the Command Master Chief Program.
After completion of the Command Master Chief course he reported to USS MONTEREY (CG 61) as Command Master Chief.
Master Chief Moore’s next assignment was with Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Six where he made various deployments to the Central Command Area of Operations.
He then served as the Command Master Chief, Naval District Washington. From there Master Chief Moore was selected to serve as the Force Master Chief, Navy Personnel Command where he currently serves.
His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards. He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Expeditionary Warfare Specialist Insignias. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Leo University.
