Enlisted Active Component to Reserve Component (AC2RC) Transition

Ways to Transition to the Reserve Component via the Career Transition Office
The Career Transition Office facilitates the transition of Active Duty / Full Time Support enlisted service members to the Selected Reserves through Career Waypoints (C-Way), Early Enlisted Transition Program, and the Delayed Affiliation Program. The Career Transition Office serves as a conduit between the active separation authority and the Navy Operational Support Centers (NOSC)  by making the transition as smooth as possible by streamlining the transition process.

Career Way Points Module
1. The Command Career Counselor (CCC) must submit a Selected Reserve (SELRES)   C-Way application.
2. Once approved, the service member will receive an initial email from their Enlisted Transition Assistant (TA) outlining the process and necessary affiliation paperwork needed to complete the transition process.  Required documents:
                a. Reserve Affiliation Screening Checklist (RASC),(NAVPERS 1306/97)
                b. C-Way approval letter
                c.  SELRES PG13
3. Once the completed affiliation paperwork is received by the service member’s TA, the assigned TA will conduct an affiliation package review to ensure all documentation is accurately completed.  When the review process is completed, the TA will email the service member a “Completed Package Email” or contact the service member advising additional documentation / information is needed to complete the process.
4. Other documents that may be applicable to complete the affiliation process are:  Reenlistment Contract, Commuting Distance Page-13, and Bonus Agreement.  The service member’s TA will provide these documents to the member if needed.
5. Once the service member’s loss date posts, it can take up to three weeks after their Expiration of Active Obligated Service (EAOS) to receive orders.  The service member will receive orders via their personal email address they provided to CTO on the RASC.  The transition process is normally completed in less than 7 buisness days.
6. Once the service member receives orders, they are directed to contact their NOSC via e-mail or telephone to confirm their first drill weekend date.

Members within 90 days of Separation without C-Way Quota
* Service members who are requesting to go into the Reserve Component without a C-Way quota.
1. The CCC must submit an Enlisted Personnel Action Request (1306/7) with the Commanding Officer’s endorsement to the SELRES Enlisted Community Manager (ECM) (BUPERS-32). SELRES ECM Page
2. Once approved by the SELRES ECM, the service member will receive an initial email from their TA outlining the process and required documents.  Required documents:
                a. RASC
                b. SELRES PG13
                c. Approved NAVPERS 1306/7
The service member’s TA will provide these documents to the service member if needed.
5. Once the member’s loss date posts, it can take up to three weeks after the service member’s EAOS to receive orders.  The service member will receive orders via their personal email address provided to CTO on the RASC.  The transition process normally is completed in less than 7 business days.
6. Once the service member receives orders, they are directed to contact their NOSC via e-mail or telephone to confirm their first drill weekend date.

Reserve Enlisted Manning Initiative
Navy Personnel Command / CTO has implemented a new initiative to assist in the manning of critically undermanned rates in the Reserve Component identified by the SELRES Enlisted Community Managers.  Most service members that are intending to separate at their EAOS are unaware of the benefits of joining the SELRES.  Service members who separate often transition to the SELRES via a recruiter and often become ineligible for transition benefits (i.e TAMP, continutiy of service…).  If the service member is currently working with a recruiter, CTO can simplify the process and ensure the recruiter recieves credit.  A C-Way approval is not needed for this process.
1.  The CCC or service member must contact CTO for eligible rates and SELRES quota availability utilizing these contact methods:
                a. NCC(AW) Melody Rivas (melody.rivas@navy.mil) or (901 874-2433)
                b. Email:  CTO.Enlisted@navy.mil
                c. Phone:  (901) 874-4108
2.  Once CTO receives approval, the service member will receive an email from their TA outlining the process and required documents.  Required documents:
                a. Reserve Enlisted Manning Initiative Information Sheet
                b. DD-214 with RE-1 or RE-6
                c.  SF600 or 2808 Separation Physical
                d.  SELRES PG13
3. Once the initial documents are submitted to the service member’s TA, the assigned TA will review the member’s documents.  Once the document review process is completed, the TA will email the member a “Completed Package Email” or contact the member advising additional documentation / information is needed to complete the process.
4. Other documents that may be applicable to complete the affiliation process are:  Reenlistment Contract, Commuting Distance Page-13, and Bonus Agreement.  The service member’s TA will provide these documents to the service member if needed.
5. Once the service member’s loss date posts, it can take up to 3 weeks after their EAOS to receive orders.  The service member will receive orders via the personal email address provided to CTO on their RASC.  The transition process normally is completed in less than 9 business days.
6. Once the service member receives orders, they are directed to contact their NOSC via e-mail or telephone to confirm their first drill weekend date.
