Frocking 
 

Officers must be on a selection list for the higher grade, confirmed by the Senate (for Reserve O-6s), and occupying or ordered to a billet for the higher grade.  Additional guidance and requirements are outlined in SECNAVINST 1420.2A

SELRES Officers must be assigned to billets which are listed on the Standard Distribution List (SNDL).

Requests for Personnel to be frocked MUST contain a copy of the member’s orders.  Intel frocking request MUST have a RIAC approved endorsement prior to submission to PERS-92.

All applications MUST be sent via the Echelon IV command or above verifying the billet the officer occupies and qualifying billet title the officer is ordered to.

Frocking requests for Reserve, to include FTS, can be sent via regular mail, or fax to:

All Officer frocking request must be approved by Navy Personnel Command (NAVPERSCOM) PERS-92.  Active duty request are to be submitted to PERS-806.
