Navy Knowledge Online (NKO) / Navy E-Learning (NeL)
NOTICE: There is a message on the Navy E-Learning (NeL) website which states:
“In accordance with NETWARCOM Computer Tasking Order (CTO 09-07), users without a Common Access Card (CAC) will no longer be granted access to Navy e-Learning (NeL).
Access to NeL will not be allowed for those using NKO’s "Username /Password" login option. Users wanting to use NeL must login to NKO with their CAC card.
This change will be implemented after leadership provides final direction and a suitable communications plan has been implemented.
Please ensure that any user(s) being sponsored secures a CAC to avoid any disruption of training services.
Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) personnel who do not have a CAC to access NeL training are recommended to utilize https://www.courses.netc.navy.mil/ as an optional NETC training resource.”
As of now, there are no plans to discontinue the log-in method currently used by our IRR members. If and when CAC enforcement is implemented, IRR members will be excepted/waived from this requirement. We are working to remove the message that is displayed on the NeL website to avoid further confusion.
Issue: I have been transferred into the IRR, but I don't know anything about it.
Resolution: For basic requirements and benefits, please visit our Guide to the IRR Webpage. For any questions that aren't covered by the Guide, please call an IRR Counselor at 1-800-535-2699 or by email at IRR_COUNSELOR@NAVY.MIL
Issue: I don’t know/remember my NKO username.
Resolution: Your username will always be in this format: yourfirstname.yourlastname.
If you remember your Navy email address, subtract the @navy.mil/@ddg72.navy.mil, etc. and you will have your username.
Issue: I don’t know/remember my NKO password.
Resolution: On the log-in page, click the link for “Reset Password”. This process is simple and takes less than two minutes. Just answer the questions when prompted and a new password will be generated.
Issue: Once in NKO, I try accessing the Virtual Screening, but I when I click the link, it sends me right back to the same page.
Resolution:
1) Ensure that your pop-up blocker is turned off. (Tools ->Pop-Up Blocker->Turn Off Pop-Up Blocker) Since the virtual screening page opens in a new window, the browser will sometimes block the page from opening.
2) If turning off the pop-up blocker does not resolve the issue, try right-clicking on the Virtual Screening link and selecting the “Open in New Window” option. This should bypass any built-in pop-up blockers that you may have through anti-virus software without actually deactivating the software.
3) If these two steps do not resolve the issue, call the BOL Helpdesk at: 1-800-951-6289 and someone will be able to assist you.
Retirement and Points Issues
Issue: I have over 20 qualifying years of service and I want to get my retirement set up.
Resolution: Call the NPC Helpdesk at 1-866-827-5672 and ask to speak with PERS-912 Retirements. A Retirement Clerk will be able to assist you.
Issue: I have points that aren't showing up on my ASOSH/ARPR.
Resolution: Print of copy of the Course Completion Certificates and Fax them to 901-874-7044. A clerk will be available to add them to your profile. You can reach the Points Update Department by calling 1-866-827-5672 and asking to speak with PERS-912 Points.
As new issues arise, we will be adding the resolutions to this page. Please check back frequently.
