Career Information Management System (CIMS)
Career Information Management System (CIMS) is a web-based system designed by the Fleet to ensure that we take care of our most prized asset, our Sailors. The Navy has deemed Career Development Boards (CDB) as the delivery mechanism for career information to Sailors. Hence, this is the primary function of CIMS, to assist those that are responsible for the career development of Sailors with tracking, conducting, and documenting CDBs.
How to get CIMS User Guide on NKO
ATTENTION: If you are a Dept/Div CC and get the following error when attempting to access a record: "you are not authorized to access this record." Your CCC needs to assign you as a Dept/Div CC and grant you access to the records.
Dept/Div CC Assignments: If you are having difficulty in assigning counselors in Dept/Div Counselors in CIMS and are receiving an error, check with your Command Leave Administrator (CLA) and ensure that both of you are using the same departments/divisions names. If not, the CLA's list will override what was previously in CIMS.
CCCs need to update CIMS and assign counselors utilizing the instructions found under the CC Assignment section on the right.
