Approval of the FY-12 LT lists was completed by OSD on 29 Sep 2011. The results were released on ALNAV 062/11.
As of FY-03 LT(jg) no longer go before a selection board. ALNAV 033/02 provides details.
Promotion to Lieutenant occurs on the first day of the month following completion of two years time in grade. If this falls on the first then it remains the first. Example: An officer's date of rank to LT(jg) is 1 November 2009, they would promote to Lieutenant on 1 November 2011. However, if the officer's LT(jg) date of rank is 2 November 2009 (or any other day after the 1st), then they would promote to Lieutenant on 1 December 2011.
Line and Staff officers are screened and the list is sent up the same approval chain as board results. FTS are also considered for promotion by the same process. Eligible LT(jg) reservists serving on active duty on mobilization orders, ADSW, limited RPN recalls, or extended ADT orders will be screened.
**Important: The list of “all fully qualified” (AFQ) eligible lieutenant are subject to change before the board convenes. Additions or deletions may occur due to retirements, discharges, release to the reserve, change in status, etc. Therefore, these lists are NEITHER FINAL NOR OFFICIAL, they are for reference only.
