CDR Daniel A. Boman is a native of San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Wildlife Fisheries Sciences.  CDR Boman received his commission from the Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida and was designated as a Naval Officer in December 1997.  He was awarded his Naval Aviator Wings of Gold in October 1999.

CDR Boman joined Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron ONE at NAS Whidbey Island, WA in October 2000.   During his tour with the "World Watchers" he completed, one FOURTH fleet, two SEVENTH Fleet and two FIFTH Fleet deployments and served as the Ground Safety Officer, Readiness Officer, Quality Assurance Officer, Assistant Operations Officer, Electronic Warfare Mission Commander and NATOPS Instructor Pilot.  During his tenure, VQ-1 was awarded two Battle "E" Awards for Squadron Excellence.

Following his first sea tour, CDR Boman reported to Patrol Squadron THIRTY in February 2004.  At the "Pro's Nest," he served as the Aircraft Division Officer, Assistant NATOPS Officer plus qualified as Formation Flight Instructor, Fleet NATOPS Pilot evaluator, and FLEET IUT Pilot.  During his tenure he received his Masters of Science Degree in Management from Embry Riddle University.

In April 2007, CDR Boman reported to USS Abraham Lincoln, where he served as a Catapult and Arresting Gear Officer and V-2 Division Officer.  During his tenure he completed JPME Phase I and qualified as Command Duty Officer Underway.  In January 2009, CDR Boman reported to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron Two.  While assigned to the "Rangers," he served as Safety Officer, Training/NATOPS Officer, Maintenance Officer, and Detachment Officer-in-Charge, completing a deployment to SIXTH Fleet.  

In December 2010, CDR Boman reported to the Joint Staff Washington D.C, where he served as an Action Officer in the Reconnaissance Operations Division and served as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director for Global Operations (J39).  In June 2013, he departed Joint Staff for transition training in the P-8 Poseidon at VP-30.

Commander Boman has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and various campaign, service, and unit awards.
