CMDCM (SW) Thomas G. Caudle USN
Command Master Chief
Master Chief Caudle was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He graduated from Middleton High School in June 1994 and enlisted in the Navy in July 1994. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL he reported to Naval Technical Training Center Meridian, MS for Storekeeper “A” School.
In December 1994, he reported for duty to USS HAWES (FFG 53) in Norfolk, VA and was advanced to Petty Officer 2nd Class.
In July 1998, Master Chief Caudle reported to USS THE SULLIVANS (DDG 68) in Mayport, FL. While aboard, he deployed to 6th Fleet and 5th Fleet. He served as S-1 LPO and was advanced to Petty Officer 1st Class.
For his shore assignment, he reported to the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Charleston, SC. While there he was advanced to Chief Petty Officer in August of 2003.
In April 2006, Master Chief Caudle reported to USS DE WERT (FFG 45) in Mayport, FL. While aboard, he deployed to the 4th Fleet AOR. He served as S-1 LCPO.
In February 2008, Master Chief Caudle reported to USS ROOSEVELT (DDG 80) in Mayport, FL. While aboard, he deployed to 6TH and 5th Fleet. He served as Supply Department LCPO and was advanced to Senior Chief.
After serving a back to back sea tour, he reported to FFG CLASSRON/COMNAVSURFLANT Detachment Mayport, FL. During this tour Master Chief Caudle was selected for the CMC/COB/CSC Program.
In November 2012, he reported to USS DE WERT (FFG 45) in Mayport, FL. While aboard, he deployed to 6TH Fleet and AFRICON. He served as the Command Senior/Master Chief and was promoted to Master Chief. Additionally, Master Chief Caudle had the distinct pleasure to serve as the Ship’s last CMC taking it to its decommissioning in April of 2014.
Master Chief Caudle is a graduate of the Air Force Senior NCO Academy and he holds a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Management.
His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and various unit and campaign awards. He is also qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist.
