Commander Brian C. Becker, USN
Commander Becker was born in and is a native of Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from The University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance in December, 1994. He recieved his commission through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps in January 1995 and was designated a Naval Aviator in May 1997. He received orders to VFA-106, NAS Cecil Field for initial FA - 18 training.
In April 1998, he completed Fleet Replacement Squardon Training and was assigned to the Valions of VFA-15. Commander Becker completed two deployments onboard the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT and USS ENTERPRISE supporting Operations ALLIED FORCES and SOUTHERN WATCH. His follow on assignement in October 2001 was to the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center.
CDR Becker was assigned tot he Warhawks of VFA-97 in November 2004 as the Training Officer. CDR Becker completed the 2004 Unit Deployment Program (UDP) to Iwakuni, Japan.
Following his tour at VFA-97, CDR Becker was assigned to the Jolly Rogers of VFA-103 as a Department Head. He served as the Administrative Officer, Operations Officer, and Maintenance Officer. CDR Becker completed one deployment onboard the USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER supporting Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM. In December of 2007, CDR Becker was assigned to the Navy Personnel Command as the Strike Fighter Assignements Officer.
CDR Becker has accumulated nearly 3000 flight hours and over 650 arrested landings. His personal awards include six Strike Flight Air Medals, five Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, one with combat "V", and various other unit and campaign awards.
