BIOGRAPHY
 
  

Master Chief Allen, a native of Knoxville Tennessee, enlisted in the United States Navy on 23 August 1989. Following the completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes Illinois he reported to EM “A” school Great Lakes Illinois.

Upon graduation of “A” school in May 1990, he reported to the USS AUSTIN (LPD-4) as Maintenance Man. In June 1995 he reported to Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity in Pascagoula Mississippi as a Motor Rewind Technician and Work Center Supervisor. In June 1998 he reported to the USS JOHN HANCOCK (DD-981) as Leading Petty Officer until decommissioning in October 2000. While onboard USS Hancock he qualified as Gas Free Engineer, Fire Marshall and Engineering Duty Officer.

In October 2000 he reported to the USS HALYBURTON (FFG-40) as Leading Petty Officer and qualified as Engineering Officer of the Watch.  In May 2002 he reported to Center for Naval Leadership, Pensacola Florida and was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in September 2002 and later qualified as Master Training Specialist.

 In May 2005 he reported to the USS CARNEY (DDG-64) as Leading Chief Petty Officer of Electrical and Auxiliaries Division. In February 2009 he was selected as Command Senior Chief and reported to the USS TAYLOR (FFG-50) in June of that year. While serving onboard TAYLOR he was promoted to Master Chief.

In August 2011 he reported to his current position as Command Master Chief for the “Puking Dogs” of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE FOUR THREE.

His decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards) and Navy Achievement Medal (4 awards). He has earned his Surface Warfare, Air Warfare and Master Training Specialist. He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 142(Green).
