BIOGRAPHY
 
  

 Master Chief Marluis Stokes is a native of Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1990. She reported for active duty in July 1991, attending Navy Recruit Training Command in Orlando, FL. After graduating boot camp, Master Chief Stokes attended Radioman "A" School in San Diego, CA.
 
In January 1992, Master Chief Stokes reported to USS GRAPPLE (ARS 53) where she served as communications watch supervisor. She completed two Mediterranean deployments. Following her sea tour, Master Chief Stokes was assigned to Combat Logistics Group TWO in Norfolk, Va., in February 1996 as the communications watch officer.
 
After completion of a successful shore duty tour, Master Chief Stokes attended Information Systems Administrator "C" school in Pensacola, FL. In April 1999 she reported to USS GUNSTON HALL (LSD 44). She completed a Mediterranean cruise, a UNITAS and later deployed in support of Operation IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM.
 
After completing Advanced Network Analyst "C" school in Norfolk, VA., Master Chief Stokes reported to Commander Naval Air Force Atlantic Fleet (COMNAVAIRLANT) in July 2003. While assinged to COMNAVAIRLANT, she attended Command Career Couselor "C" School. She was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in September 2004.
 
In April 2007, she reported to USS NITZE (DDG 94) as communications Leading Chief Petty Officer. She deployed twice in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
 
In December 2009, Master Chief Stokes reported to Commander, Naval Surface Forces Atlantic Fleet (COMNAVSURFLANT) where she performed the duities of department Leading Chief Petty Officer.
 
In November of 2012, she attended the U.S Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 170 (Brown). After graduating she reported to USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69) as the Automated Data Processing Division Leading Chief Petty Officer. Here she was selected into the Command Senior Chief Program and was advanced to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer.
 
In April 2014 she reported to her current position as Command Master Chief for the "Pukin' Dogs" of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE FOUR THREE. Her decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards) and various unit campaign awards. She has earned her Information Dominance Warfare, Surface Warfare, and Aviation Warfare.
