COMMAND OMBUDSMAN
Hello Tigertail families,
Let me take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Jennifer Taylor and I am the new Ombudsman for VAW-125. As you may already know, ombudsmen are the liasons between command and their families. We communicate information and resources to our families in emergencies, crisis or any other important matters. I have a few goals that I would like to achieve before our command deploys again for sea. Number one goal is to put a Family Readiness Group together. Family Readiness Group's purpose is to plan and conduct social, informational, care-taking, planning and morale-building activities. This not only is effective for deployment but also for when the command is based back home. This group is a very good way to connect with other family members of the command and to receive information that needs to get out to the families. I encourage all family members to get involved. I will be needing volunteers to help me get this FRG up and running. Please contact me if interested.
My second goal is to get to know the families of the command and also to update my personal files with Emergency contact information. Enclosed in this letter, you will find an Emergency contact form and return envelope. Please fill out this form and return it back to me. All the information is to be used in case of emergencies or in the event that I need to put out important information. All information will remain confidential and will only be used by me.
Please contact me if I can be of assistance to you. Your questions, concerns, comments, complaints, etc are important and will be held in the strictest of confidence. I do have a responsibility, in accordance with OPNAVINST 1750.1D, to report certain situations. These situations are:
*All suspected/known child abuse/neglect.
*Alleged domestic abuse.
*Suspected/potential homicides, violence or life endangering situations.
*All suspected/potential suicidal risks.
