CMDCM(AW/SW) ROBERT L. EVERSON
Command Master Chief
CMDCM(AW/SW) Robert L. Everson, USN is a native of Meridian, Georgia. Master Chief Everson graduated from McIntosh County Academy High School - Class of 1988. He entered the Navy through the Delayed Entry Program and completed basic training at Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, IL in March 1989.
Following recruit training, he reported to Aviation Boatswain Mate Equipment “A” School in Lakehurst, NJ. His first duty station was the USS Kitty Hawk (CVN 63) where he successfully completed two Western Pacific deployments. His second tour was Naval Aviation Schools Command (NASC) as a water survival and physical fitness high risk instructor at Naval Air Station, Pensacola. His follow on assignment was onboard the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), where he served as the Bow and Waist Catapult LCPO. He promoted from Second Class Petty Officer to Chief Petty Officer and completed three Western Pacific deployments during that tour. While stationed at Naval Aviation Technical Training Center (NATTC) as ABE- A1 Training Officer, he earned his Master Training Specialist qualification.
His next tour was the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) where he served as the Arresting Gear LCPO, Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Maintenance Chief and V-2 Division LCPO. He was promoted to the ranks of Senior Chief and Master Chief Petty Officer, and completed four Western Pacific deployments during this assignment.
While assigned to the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) he served as the Air Department LCPO and successfully completed two Western Pacific deployments and Operation Unified Response for the Haitian disaster relief efforts. His tour prior to reporting to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM 75) was the USS Boxer (LHD 4). As the Air Department LCPO he successfully completed his thirteenth deployment and was selected to the Command Master Chief program in 2012. Master Chief Everson is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (class 143 khaki), CMC/COB course (class 121) in Newport Rhode Island.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (nine awards) and numerous unit and campaign awards.
Master Chief Everson reported to his current assignment as the Command Master Chief for Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM 75) in May 2014.
