Master Chief Eric Faulkner
Command Master Chief
Master Chief Faulkner, a native of Memphis TN, enlisted in the Navy July 1987, attending Boot Camp at RTC, Great Lakes, IL. Upon graduating boot camp he began training at HM "A" School.
His first tour of duty was as a General Duty HM at Naval Charleston SC where he worked as a ward corpsman. During this tour he developed his leadership skills as the Leading Petty Officer for Pediatric Inpatient nursing leading to his selection as Leading Petty Officer for the Directorate for Nursing Services responsible for over 110 junior corpsmen. He was promoted to Third Class Petty Officer and was selected to attend Physical Therapy Technician "C" school.
After completing Physical Therapy Technician "C" School he was promoted to Second Class Petty Officer and reported for duty at the United States Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan. He completed a successful tour in Japan and was transferred to Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, CA. While assigned to the Naval Hospital he provided sound leadership as the LPO for the Physical/Occupational Therapy Department. He played a key role in establishing the Navy's first Sports Medicine and Rehabilitative Therapy Clinic and was promoted to First Class Petty Officer. His tour ended with his selection to attend Surface Force Independent Duty Corpsman "C" School.
His successful completion of SFIDC School landed him at 1st Marine Division as 2nd Battalion 4th Marines Independent Duty Corpsman. While forward deployed to Okinawa, Japan on a six month Unit Deployment Program he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer. Returning from a successful deployment he was assigned as the Senior Medical Department Representative/IDC for 5th Battalion 11th Marines where he completed numerous field and training exercises. While assigned with 5/11 he deployed to Kenya providing medical support for a small taskforce helping with providing instruction and oversight for peace keeping training for the African militaries. After returning from Kenya he was married as the SMDR for the Headquarters Battalion BAS where he deployed in support of Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. While in Diwaniyah Iraqi he was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer. Upon return from Iraqi he transferred to Nval Medical Center San Diego, CA.
While assigned to NMCSD he worked as the LCPO for the Emergency Department, Senior Enlisted Leader for the Directorate for Medical Services, Senior Enlisted Leader for the Directorate for Nursing Services and Deputy Command Master Chief for a command of over 5000 Sailors and civilians. He completed a seven month deployment as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the United States Military Hospital Kuwait as part of the Expeditionary Medical Facility Kuwait and was promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer during the deployment. Upon completion of his tour at NMCSD he report as the Command Master Chief for 1st Medical Battalion.
As the CMC for 1st Medical Battalion he provide solid leadership for over 500 Marines and Sailors in addition to dual hatting as the Regimental Senior Enlisted Leader. Covered as Acting Command Master Chief for 1st Marine Logistic Group for one year. He is currently serving as the Command Master Chief of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Eight "The Eightballers".
Master Chief Faulkner earned the Fleet Marine Force Enlisted Warefare Specialist. His personal awards include the Meritorrious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three). He has completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Management from Tourou University International and is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy.
