Command Master Chief

Master Chief Doug Steinmetz, originally from Amanda, OH, enlisted in the Navy August 1995. After completion of Basic Training at Recruit Training Center Great Lakes, IL, he graduated from Hospital Corpsman “A” School.

Master Chief Steinmetz is currently serving as Command Master Chief, HSC-8, Coronado, California.  His previous duty stations and assignments include Pharmacy Technician “C” School, Portsmouth, VA, Naval Health Clinic Patuxent River, Patuxent River, MD, Field Medical Service School, Camp Pendleton, CA, Marine Aircraft Group 39, Camp Pendleton, CA, Surface Force Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC)School, San Diego, CA, USS GUARDIAN (MCM 5) , Sasebo, Japan, Naval Hospital Corps School, Great Lakes, IL, USS ASHLAND (LSD 48), Little Creek, VA, Afloat Training Group Norfolk, Norfolk, VA, and Commander, U.S. Third Fleet Corpsman, San Diego, CA.

Master Chief Steinmetz is an Honor Graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class (144 Khaki), Command Master Chief Course (Class 148), and has earned a MA in Management and Leadership from Liberty University.

His personal decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (six awards), and various service and campaign awards.
