Executive Officer

CDR Behr was commissioned through OCS in February of 2000 after earning a BS in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University. After preflight indoctrination and primary flight training in the T-34C, CDR Behr was selected for the helicopter pipeline and assigned advanced training at HT-8 in Milton, FL.  He received his wings in December 2001.

After flight school, CDR Behr was assigned to his first operational sea tour at HC-6 in Norfolk, VA, serving there from 2002 to 2005.  While assigned there, he served as Legal Officer and Aviation Safety Officer and deployed on the USS BATAAN as an H2P and one the USNS SIRIUS as an aircraft commander.  Following his tour at HC-6, CDR Behr was selected to HSC-2.  He attended IUT training at HC-3 in San Diego and returned to Norfolk to assist the squadron in its transition from the H-3 airframe to the MH-60S.  While assigned at HSC-2, CDR Behr served as a flight instructor and Quality Assurance Officer.

CDR Behr transferred from HSC-2 to the USS BATAAN in 2007 for his disassociated sea tour as the Safety Officer.  While onboard, he qualified as Officer of the Deck Underway.  In 2009, he was assigned to the US Army's Command and General Staff College in Leavenworth, Kansas, completing his Intermediate Level Education while also earning an MS in Continuing and Adult Education from Kansas State University.

CDR Behr reported to his Department Head tour at HSC-22 in 2010.  While assigned there, he was the Officer in Charge of a dual helicopter detachment onboard USNS ARCTIC.  Upon return from deployment, CDR Behr assumed duties as the squadron Maintenance Officer.  Following his Department Head tour, he transferred to the Joint Staff and was assigned to the J7 as the Environment Portfolio Strategy Branch Chief, leading a team of civilians responsible for budget execution, lifecycle management, portfolio management and IT asset accountability. 

While assigned to the Joint Staff, CDR Behr was selected for Commander Command. 

CDR Behr has been married to his wife Christine for 23 years and has a seven year-old daughter, Skylar Rae Behr.
