Master Chief O’Grady is a native of North Olmsted, Ohio. She joined the Navy on January 23, 1993 and attended boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Florida. Following boot camp, she attended Cryptologic Technician Collection “A” School at the Naval Technical Training Detachment Fort Devens, Massachusetts. Her training continued with advanced morse code analysis “C” school at Naval Technical Training Center Corry Station in Pensacola, Florida. She was selected for the Command Master Chief Program in February of 2015. Master Chief O’Grady assumed the duties as Command Master Chief of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Twelve in July of 2016.
Her assignments include: Naval Security Group Activity Misawa in Misawa, Japan, USS Boxer (LHD 4) in San Diego, California, Navy Recruiting District Ohio, Navy Recruiting Station Lakewood/North Olmsted/Lorain, Commander, Naval Forces Europe-Commander Sixth Fleet (CNE C6F) in Naples, Italy, USS Philippine Sea (CG 58) in Mayport, Florida, Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, and the Center For Information Warfare Training Detachment Goodfellow, located in San Angelo, Texas.
She is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (179 Green) and Command Master Chief Course. Additionally, she has earned her Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Information Warfare Specialist, Surface Warfare Specialist, and Master Training Specialist qualifications.
Her decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), and Good Conduct Medal (7 awards).
