      Captain Terry Morris is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June 1983 and was commissioned through the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) Program. He was winged a Naval Flight Officer in November 1990.

      He has completed deployments to the Balkans supporting combat operations in Kosovo, Counter-narcotics operations in Central America, humanitarian and relief operations in Turkey, Iraq, and Guam. He completed two combat deployments as Commanding Officer of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 123 in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

      His shore assignments include the Joint Concept Development and Experimentation directorate, United States Joint Forces Command, VAW/VRC assignments officer at Navy Personnel Command, Operations Officer of the fleet replacement squadron VAW-120, Flag Aide to the Commander U.S. Naval Forces Marianas, and to the Commander Amphibious Group THREE, and NROTC instructor Florida A&M University.

       Captain Morris holds the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Florida A&M University, the Master of Science in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas, and the Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College.

       During his career he has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and numerous unit, service and campaign awards.

      Captain Morris reported to Carrier Air Wing Seven August 2011 as the Deputy Commander and deployed in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM onboard USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER Jun – Dec 2012. He took command of Carrier Air Wing Seven in December 2012.
